Patients with hearing loss have a greater difficulty sorting out what they want to hear from what they don't want to hear. And while today's hearing aids help the effort quite a bit, there are still instances in which they fall short.
One such instance is in a classroom setting. Interfering with the speech signal traveling from a teacher to a student are a number of obstacles such as reverberant surfaces and ambient noise. Obviously, these acoustic obstacles can negatively affect the learning potential of students and so, audiologists and teachers turn to FM systems.
